Search and Rescue Resources

The Office of the Fire Commissioner is the coordinating body of Search and Rescue initiatives in Alberta and, as such, promotes various public safety educational resources aimed at encouraging Albertans and visitors to Alberta to act safely.
  • The National Search and Rescue Secretariat has developed a variety of tools and resources to help Canadians enjoy our wilderness areas safely and responsibly. Check out AdventureSmart!
  • Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (ESRD) provides a variety of resources (e.g., being bear and cougar smart, wildfire status, trail closures) to help people enjoy our recreational spaces safely and responsibly in their Camping and Outdoor Recreation webpages.
